For vendors
How verification works
What the badge means, how we check, and what it does not promise.
Couples in Ghana routinely pay deposits to businesses they found in an Instagram comment section. Verification is the whole reason this marketplace exists, so it is worth being precise about what we check and what we do not.
What we check before a vendor appears
- Identity. The person behind the business confirms who they are through a verification provider approved by the National Identification Authority. We keep the result of that check — verified or not — and not a copy of the ID.
- The business. A reviewer on our team checks that the business name, category, city and contact details are consistent and real, and that the social profiles belong to the same business.
- The portfolio. Every photo and video is reviewed by a person before it goes live, so a profile cannot quietly fill up with someone else’s work.
A vendor who does not clear all three does not get a profile. There is no paid shortcut past this — you cannot buy the badge.
What “Identity checked” does not mean
It means we have reasonable confidence that a real, identifiable person stands behind the business. It is not a guarantee of their work, their pricing, their availability, or that your wedding will go to plan. We are not a party to any agreement you make with a vendor, and we do not hold your money.
- Always agree the scope, the price and the refund terms in writing.
- Be cautious with large deposits, especially before you have met.
- Keep your conversation in Wedding in Ghana. If something goes wrong, a reviewer can read the thread; a WhatsApp message we never saw helps nobody.
Where verification is today
Identity verification goes live alongside our data-protection registration in Ghana. Until that is complete we are not approving new vendor profiles — applications are queued in the order they arrive, and you keep your place. We would rather tell you that plainly than approve people on a promise and call it a check.
If a listing looks wrong
Every vendor profile has a Report link, and every conversation can be blocked and reported. Reports go to a human reviewer. If a vendor stops meeting the standard, the profile comes down — the badge is a statement about now, not forever.
